LENTEN DAY RETREATSDay Retreat: But who do you say that I am? Lent is a 40 days season of the Christian Year. The focus is on Jesus’ journey to Jerusalem. If the true measure of a person is revealed in adversity, how is the true measure of God revealed? This one day retreat begins the Lenten meditation with Jesus’ own question “But who do you say that I am?” Who is Jesus to you? Date: 18 Feb 2022 (Fri) Time: 9am-5.30pm Venue: CSF Cost: $100, including lunch. Day Retreat: What do you want Me to do for you? The journey to Jerusalem not only revealed what drives Jesus towards the cross, it also revealed the disciples’ self-referencing desires. It is this contrast that shows us “the wonders of His glorious love, and our own worthlessness.” As we approach Holy Week, it is time again to let the Lord’s question search us and liberate us from our self centred ways. Date: 11 Mar 2022 (Fri) - registration closed Time: 9am-5.30pm Venue: CSF Cost: $100, including lunch. LENTEN RESIDENTIAL RETREAT4D3N Residential Retreat: From the Upper Room to the Empty Tomb

A Spiritual Retreat in EpiphanyA spiritual retreat is about you and also not about you. For God is present. A spiritual retreat is also about God. It is also why you came – to meet Him. As we turn our eyes from our self to behold Him in His greatness and goodness, then the things of earth will grow strangely dim. More comforting (and confounding) is finding our “big” cares and concerns become strangely shrunk, diminished, put in proper perspective, in the light of His glory and grace.
What about the season of Epiphany? Following Advent, this season is about the manifestation of Jesus – the revelation that He is the Son of God. Epiphany is a season to be awe-filled afresh. This is what we seek in this retreat - for a fresh manifestation, an epiphany ~ that fresh revelation, unveiling, insight, new discovery, rediscovery that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Date: 7 Jan 2022, Friday (registration full) OR 20 Jan 2022, Thursday (registration full) Time: 9am-5.30pm Venue: CSF Cost: $100, including lunch Advent marks the beginning of the Christian year. We start at the beginning again, to follow the life of our Lord Jesus for another new year. Advent Day Retreat: "You Shall Name Him Jesus"Advent marks the coming of Christ. The angel announcing His birth said to Mary, “You shall name Him Jesus.” Later, in a separate announcement to Joseph, the angel added that “he will save his people from their sins.” (Luke 1:31; Matthew 1:21) Join us at this Advent Day Retreat, where we will step closer into the story of Jesus’ birth, focusing on the angel’s announcement to Mary and Joseph. Jesus is the true light that has come into the world. (John 1:9). Let us ponder and be refreshed and renewed by the hope, peace, joy and love that He brings as we begin a new year with Jesus. Date: 12 Nov 2021, Friday - Registration Closed. Time: 9am-5.30pm Venue: CSF Fee: $100, including lunch. Advent Residential Retreat: "No Longer Longing: O Come Emmanuel, O Come Lord Jesus"“Soon it will be Christmas Day,” so goes one popular Christmas song. For Christians, a richer term to express the birth of Christ is “Advent.” It simply means “coming,” the coming of God into our world. With the Advent, we are no longer longing like Simeon who waited his whole life for the “consolation of Israel” (Luke 2:25). But Advent does not just commemorate the birth of Christ, His first coming. It also anticipates the second Advent, His second coming. And we are reminded indeed to be like Simeon, and also the martyred believers who (in John’s vision of the future), “cried out in a loud voice “How long, Sovereign Lord … until you judge…?” (Rev 6:10) Advent begins the Christian Year, which is based on the life of Christ. Thus, every new year, we start afresh to remember Christ’s birth and “follow” him from cradle to cross, from the grave to the sky. This is however, no boring re-run. The life of Christ, now the Living One (Rev 1:18) revitalizes us, as month after month, we are immersed in the spiritual significance of Advent, Epiphany, Lent, Resurrection, Ascension and Pentecost. ~ Extracts from John Chong Ser Choon’s Advent Reflection Date: 9-12 Dec 2021, Thu-Sun. Registration Closed. The retreat begins at 9am on 9 Dec, end at 1pm after lunch on 12 Dec. Venue: Lifesprings Canossian Spirituality Centre Fee: $550, single air-con room, including meals. Pre-requisite: Attended a residential retreat before. Advent Day Retreat: "As You Have Promised"“Sovereign Lord, as you have promised, you may now dismiss your servant in peace.” (Luke 2: 29)
Simeon might be one of the most in tune person with God’s salvation plan. At the national level, Simeon’s waiting for the consolation of Israel was fulfilled when he saw God’s salvation. At the personal level, God’s promise to him that he would see Lord’s Christ during his lifetime came to pass at that moment. In this day retreat, we will stay with Simeon in his quiet, heroic story of waiting, hope and fulfilment. Let this Advent season orientate you to the posture of waiting in hope. As Simeon, this old man from the pages of scriptures waited and found his consolation in Christ, so will we.
